Beddagana Wetland Park is truly a hidden beauty within the City of Colombo. This location is truly a hidden gem, as not many locals too known about it. If you are in a mood to relax with your family or your loved one or even just escape from the busy bustle of the city, The Beddagana Wetland Park will provide you with a gateway to a walk among nature.
This wetland park in the urbanized administrative capital, Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte.It has many attractive locations where you can relax and enjoy watching the various species of birds which can be found here.
This 18-hectare nature park is an excellent location for Birdwatchers, especially during the season from August to April every year, when the site become a popular stopover for many migrant birds. Unlike other “wetland” parks found in Sri Lanka, Beddagana Wetland park is literally a wetland, if it's not for the wooden footpaths which gracefully run through it, it is all purely a wetland.
After entering through the main gate you can explore 2 separate sides of the park, one where you will see a lot of Migratory Birds and the other which is bordered by the Diyawanna Lake. Along the footpath, you will find signboards, which name the specialty of that area.
