Located in the Hambantota Region, Ridiyagama Safari Park is Sri Lanka’s first Safari Park. It became open to the public on the 28th of March 2016. The Park stands at 500 Acres and is divided into six zones, 3 of which are currently open to the public. 2 Zones are dedicated to herbivores and the remaining 4 will be for Carnivorous animals.
You can find animals like Bengali Tigers, Leopards Sloth Bears, Elephants, African Lions and Australian Cheetahs. In addition to the Zones, the park has a butterfly garden, animal breeding grounds, camping sites, circuit bungalows, play areas for kids, souvenir shops and food courts.
